Receptionist

Entry Level Position for Growing Family Law Firm 

We are looking for the kind of person who feels good helping others and can work with all types of personalities. They should have high, positive energy, be extremely and authentically personable, and be able to actively and intently and actively listen to people, always with grace and a smile. More importantly, we need someone who can handle the growth of our firm and is adaptable to performing various tasks and assignments so we can continue to make a difference in people’s lives.

Telephones:

  • Answers incoming calls
  • Make outgoing calls to clients, opposing counsel or Court.
  • Direct incoming calls as appropriate

Mail:

  • Collect incoming mail/direct to proper person
  • Stamp date received on incoming mail
  • Process outgoing mail

Email:

  • Respond to emails as requested
  • Forward emails to proper person
  • Arrange calls or meetings

Filing:

  • Organize documents in appropriate client files
  • Return client files to their proper location when requested

Other

  • Greets clients, guests, prospective clients, attorneys, etc.
  • Maintains front office, work area, and conference room clean/neat
  • Make visitors comfortable, offer water/coffee if in office consultation or meeting
  • Receive deliveries and packages, direct to proper person, stocks office supplies
  • Assists with scanning, photocopying, faxing, making copies
  • Work with vendors (building, locksmith, etc.)
  • Coordinate office and technology repairs
  • Assist other staff members as requested
  • Perform other general office duties as requested
  • Create a positive and professional first impression on behalf of the firm
  • Must be able to lift and move at least 20 pounds (File boxes)

Prior legal/law firm experience is not required. Prior office/customer service required. High school degree required. Some college preferred. This position is intended to be full-time, in office. This is not a remote position.

Benefits:

The firm pays for HMO Kaiser Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, Acupuncture/ Chiropractic, Life Insurance & Long-term Disability Insurance for employees only. Dependents can be added to medical at employee’s expense.   10 days accrued vacation for the first five years and 15 days after completion of five years of employment. There are 10 paid holidays that the firm is closed for.  Eligible for retirement, and firm matching, after three years of employment.
